Kelsey’s Story
Kelsey was born in Arkansas but grew up in Amarillo. She went to Texas Tech where she got her Bachelor’s in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Painting and a Minor in Healthcare Professions. She then moved to Dallas to attended the Dallas Nursing institute where she earned her Associates Degree in Nursing before returning to Texas Tech online to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Kelsey now lives in Fort Worth and is working at a level one trauma hospital in the ER part time and also as an on-call SANE nurse. She is in school again working towards her Master’s in Forensic Nursing through Texas A&M.
Matthew’s Story
Matthew was born and raised in Amarillo. He went to Texas Tech where he got his Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and after graduation began working as a management trainee at Cintas (the family business) in Fort Worth. For a short time, Matthew had to go to the Kansas location to help out, but he would return to Fort Worth about a year later. Matthew is now working as a Production Supervisor at Cintas while also working towards his Master’s in Business Administration through WTAMU.
Our Relationship
We met in high school through mutual friends, and despite spending a lot of time together, our relationship was pretty contentious for a while. During covid we were all each other had, so we learned to get a long and even became friends during that time. After a few more years and some distance, we came to realize that we made each other very happy. In June 2024 Matthew proposed, and on August 2, 2024 at 10:38 am we went to the Justice of the Peace, because we just couldn’t wait to officially start our lives together.
Now we are having a ceremony in Portugal and we are so excited!
